Versatile Google Chromecast Is for Work and Play

The Google Chromecast is a thumb-sized media streaming device that plugs into the HDMI port on your TV. With a simple mobile app you can send your favorite online shows, movies, music, and more to your TV using your iPhone, iPad, Android smartphone/tablet, or your laptop.

Chromecast streams Netflix, HBO GO, YouTube, WatchESPN, Pandora and other apps. For everything else, you can mirror what you see on the small screen to the big screen. If you’re on your laptop, you can “cast” any website in the Chrome browser.

So what makes the Chromecast useful in your law practice? It works with newer projectors so you can walk into any conference room that has an HDMI port on the projector or the LCD TV on the wall, plug in your Chromecast, and immediately cast anything you have on your iPad, phone, or laptop onto the big screen. Pull up PDF medical records you’ve stored in Dropbox and show them during a deposition. Deliver a client presentation or your closing argument that you created with Google Slides or even PowerPoint using just your smartphone. Impress visitors to your office with a stream of profiles of your firm’s lawyers or significant case victories.

The Chromecast sells for $35, but you can often get it on sale at Best Buy or Amazon for $30. That’s an amazing bargain for a handy device you’ll carry in your briefcase. Learn more at http://www.google.com/chrome/devices/chromecast/
