Due to the extension of Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s stay-at-home order until April 30, 2020, and the Michigan Supreme Court’s extension of its administrative order until April 30, 2020, Michigan courts are having to adjust their course of action quickly. Beginning Monday, April 13, 2020, Oakland County Circuit Court will be expanding its electronic filing capabilities through MiFILE.
With the expansion, attorneys and litigants can now electronically file on a voluntary basis the following types of cases:
- Criminal: capital felonies (FC), noncapital felonies (FH), and juvenile felonies (FJ);
- Domestic: custody (DC), divorce (with minor children) (DM), divorce (without minor children) (DO), paternity (DP), child support (DS), and other domestic relations matters (DZ); and
- Miscellaneous: infectious disease (ID).
This process can be used for the initial pleadings and any subsequent filings. If anyone has emergency questions, Oakland County has provided emergency phone numbers to contact: 248-464-2908 or 248-425-4794.
